When I make art, I strive to recreate the subtle nuances I experience when observing the world around me—the way light transforms an object, the atmosphere of a particular environment, or the unique personality of the subject I am painting or drawing. Through careful attention to these details, I aim to capture not just what something looks like, but what it feels like to encounter it in that moment.
It is especially gratifying when a finished piece resonates with a viewer and evokes a feeling, mood, or memory of their own. In those moments, the artwork becomes a shared experience between observation, interpretation, and personal reflection.

Born and raised in California, I have been an artist since childhood, beginning my first commissioned artworks at the age of 16, also gaining top honors and recognition in both local and state competitions. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Distinction from the California College of the Arts in Oakland, and have studied Graphic Design at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. I am greatful for my family, good friends, and the blessings that each day brings.

My main art media includes oils, watercolor, pastels, charcoal, graphite, and pen & ink. I love to paint and draw people, still-life, animals, and landscape. I enjoy making art for exhibitions, creating commissioned portraits, teaching art, and I enjoy various special art projects that come my way. I exhibit in the Bay Area, with artwork in private collections across the US.

I now exclusively teach youth and adult art classes in my Pleasant Hill art studio, with a focus on having fun, developing art skills, and creating community around art. I encourage students to exercise their art skills daily, like athletes do. The more you work out, the better you get. Practice is key to mastering media and opening up creative possibilities.
