When I make art, I strive to recreate the subtle nuances I experience when observing the world around me—the way light transforms an object, the atmosphere of a particular environment, or the unique personality of the subject I am painting or drawing. Through careful attention to these details, I aim to capture not just what something looks like, but what it feels like to encounter it in that moment.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from California College of the Arts in Oakland and have also studied Graphic Design at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. I have over 10 years of experience teaching art through local schools and community programs in the Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek areas. Today, I focus exclusively on youth and adult classes in my Pleasant Hill studio, where the emphasis is on creativity, skill-building, and fostering a sense of community through art. I encourage students to approach their artistic practice the way athletes approach training—consistently and with intention. The more you practice, the more your skills grow. Regular work is the key to mastering different media and unlocking new creative possibilities.
