Making art is my passion, and I love sharing it with others. Born and raised in California, I have been an artist since childhood, beginning my first commissioned artworks at the age of 16, also gaining top honors and recognition in both local and state competitions. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Distinction from the California College of the Arts in Oakland, and have studied Graphic Design at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. I exhibit in the Bay Area, with artwork in public and private collections across the US.
Practice is key to mastering media and opening up creative possibilities. My main media include oils, watercolor, pastels, charcoal, graphite, and pen & ink. I enjoy making art for exhibitions, creating commissioned portraits, teaching art to kids and adults, and I enjoy various special art projects that come my way. I have been blessed with support and encouragement my whole life, and I especially enjoy nurturing art and creativity in others as well.
I love to paint and draw people, still-life, animals, and landscape. When I make art, I strive to recreate the nuances that I see and experience when viewing an object in certain lighting, or the feeling of an environment that I am in, or the unique personality of the subject that I paint or draw. It is very gratifying when I make an artwork that connects with a viewer, provoking a feeling, a mood, memory for that person.
